Abstract

Large-scale water transfer projects are strategic infrastructure essential for optimizing water resource allocation, alleviating regional imbalances between water supply and demand, and supporting high-quality socioeconomic development. These projects are characterized by their substantial scale, extended construction periods, technical complexity, extensive geographical coverage, and significant environmental impacts. Quality management is a critical component of project construction, directly influencing structural safety and stability, water supply reliability, and long-term durability. It also plays a vital role in mitigating engineering risks and safeguarding lives and property. Taking a large-scale water transfer project as a case study, this paper systematically examines the key challenges associated with quality management during project construction. Drawing on practical construction experience, targeted strategies are proposed from technical, managerial, institutional, and personnel perspectives to provide a theoretical reference for improving quality management in large-scale water transfer projects in China.
