During the operation of natural gas pipeline networks, equipment failures—particularly those involving valves, compressors, and instrumentation—pose persistent threats to transportation safety, operational efficiency, and supply reliability, necessitating a systematic understanding of failure mechanisms and the implementation of targeted countermeasures to ensure the safe and stable functioning of these critical energy infrastructures. In the operation of natural gas pipelines, equipment failures affect transportation safety and efficiency. Common failures involve valves, compressors, and instruments. It is necessary to clarify the causes of failures, such as wear, aging, and operational errors. Targeted countermeasures, such as regular maintenance, fault diagnosis, and technical upgrades, should be taken to ensure the safe and stable operation of pipelines and improve the reliability of natural gas transportation.
