Human development has long been a subject of global scholarly inquiry, with particular interest in whether universal rules govern individual growth trajectories. Career planning serves as a methodological framework for navigating this process, offering a structured approach to pre‑designing optimal pathways that align with each individual's unique potential and aspirations, thereby facilitating efficient and self‑congruent development. Despite its practical significance, career planning remains inadequately understood by many. This paper aims to elucidate the foundational logic of career planning by systematically delineating the conceptual relationships among its definition, functional scope, and operational mechanisms, with the goal of rendering the field more accessible and actionable to a broader audience.
