Abstract

Small and medium-sized museums account for a significant proportion of the total number of museums in China and play a vital role in the country’s museum-based social education system. However, many small and medium-sized museums face challenges such as insufficient funding and talent, leading to less-than-ideal exhibition outcomes. Among various exhibition methods, the restoration display method demonstrates strong educational effectiveness. This paper takes the Yunnan Railway Museum, a small and medium-sized museum, as a case study to analyze how restoration display can enhance the exhibition quality of such museums.
