Lexical ambiguity refers to a complex linguistic phenomenon in which the meaning of a word is ambiguous or accepts two or more interpretations. Due to the broad vocabulary, the lexical ambiguity in Spanish is particularly prominent, which affects the accuracy of the expression, causes misunderstandings and constitutes obstacles in language communication. However, contrary to what they usually think, ambiguity also has a positive pragmatic effect. This paper tries to analyze the lexical ambiguity of Spanish from a communicative perspective, explores its effects and the methods to reduce it.
