Hainan Island, a burgeoning free trade port renowned for its opulent hotels and lush scenery, aspires to foster a dynamic E-sports sector and associated industry clusters. This paper delves into the key challenges that Hainan Island faces in this pursuit, such as aligning with the local culture, nurturing talent, diversifying the market, and transforming its image. It proposes a set of comprehensive countermeasures to these challenges, aiming to promote sustainable economic growth through strategic development of the E-sports ecosystem. The proposed strategies underscore the significance of cultural synergy, robust talent pipelines, market expansion, and positive image cultivation in establishing Hainan as a prominent player in the global E-sports landscape.
